YALTA
YALTA ,

For the older generation, Yalta is the place where the Crimean Conference was held in 1945. They remember this important and dramatic event from the end of WWII. The younger generation has usually heard something about the former Soviet Union and the name of Yalta. But all people who heard about Yalta at least once know it is a nice and the most famous resort area on the shore of the beautiful Black Sea.

SEVASTOPOL
SEVASTOPOL ,

Sevastopol was founded one year before Simferopol, in 1773. It was chosen as a navy base for the Russian Black Sea Fleet because there are many big and calm bays around the area. The city growed quickly and always was military. Sevastopol is city-hero. There were two terrible wars: Crimean war in 1854-55 and WW2 and both times Sevastopol had heroic defences.

FEODOSYA
FEODOSYA ,

The old name of Feodosia is Kafa. It's really old town, it was Crimean bigest slave-market in Kafa in XII-XVIII. You will see a ruins of ancient tower, a sight of those time, when you'll be walking in Feodosia. Now Feodosia is popular recreation place with a good sand beach, many cafes and restaurants.

SIMFEROPOL
SIMFEROPOL ,

Simferopol is the political, administrative and cultural center of Crimea and is located in the middle of the Crimean peninsula. "Simferopol" is a greek word and means "a town-collector". Actually, all Crimean's roads collect here. Simferopol was founded on April 28, 1784. Before, there was a small tatar town named Ak-Mechet.

SUDAK
SUDAK ,

Old Genova built a big fortres where Sudak started from. They called it Surozh. There is an old German church near the fortress which acts as an exibition hall now. There are many restaurants, cafes and bars in Sudak, but most of them open just in summer time.

ALUSHTA
ALUSHTA ,

Alushta is one of the largest and most popular holiday resorts not only in Crimea, but in all of Ukraine. With a population of roughly 40,000 inhabitants, the city's population swells to several times its size from June until October. This is when Ukrainians and Russians migrate south to take advantage of the wonderful climate, clean air and popular Black Sea beaches.
